Cebu City — Manila resort developer, 7107 Development Corporation has partnered with Cebu-based Mactan Rock Industries Inc. (MRII) for the latter to provide and manage the water needs of the former’s resort projects.

MRII Chairman Antonio Tompar said his firm and 7107 Development Corp., led by resort developer-businessman Esteban Tajanlangit, has put up a new company, Pacific Islands Water Utilities Inc. (PIWUI), to seal this partnership.

PIWUI will provide and manage all the water requirements of resorts developed by 7,107 Development Corp., through MRII’s water technology solutions such as reverse osmosis, waste-water treatment and desalination.

MRII Consultant James Cook said PIWUI is now providing the water needs of a resort in Coron, Palawan developed by 7,107 Development Corp. The company is set to develop 18-22 high-end resorts in other islands all over the country including Busuanga, Palawan and Carabao Island in Boracay.

“This is to start our focus on providing water technology solutions to tourism related projects, especially those that are located on an island, where water supply is scare,” Cook said.

He said a challenge in island resort development is the availability of potable water.
